1. Will StoCast Wood panels rot or warp like natural timber?

No. Unlike natural cedar or pressure-treated wood that absorbs moisture and expands, StoCast is a resin-based composite that is highly resistant to moisture. This ensures the panels remain perfectly flat and dimensionally stable, even in extreme humidity or direct rainfall.

2. Does the wood grain color fade in direct sunlight?

StoCast Wood is coloured with Stocolor Wood Stain or Sto architectural coatings, which are UV-resistant. The planks and joints must be top coated within 90 days of installation to lock in durability and UV protection.

3. Can these panels be applied to curved walls or surfaces?

Yes. One of the primary engineering advantages of StoCast Wood is its flexibility. The panels can be manipulated to follow subtle architectural curves and radiuses that would be impossible or cost-prohibitive to achieve with rigid natural wood planks or aluminum sidings.

4. How does StoCast Wood affect the weight load of my building?

StoCast is an ultra-lightweight cladding solution. It is significantly lighter than natural wood and traditional siding materials, allowing it to be installed over standard EIFS (Stucco) systems and lightweight framing without the need for mechanical wall ties or structural reinforcement.

5. Is this product fire-resistant for exterior use?

StoCast Wood panels are designed to meet rigorous architectural safety standards. When installed as part of a complete Sto system, they provide high-performance fire-resistance characteristics, making them a safe and compliant alternative to flammable natural timber sidings.
