Material Science and Geological Authenticity

Every StoneRox unit is cast from hand-selected natural stone molds. The material composition utilizes a specific blend of Portland cement, lightweight aggregates, and iron oxide pigments that are integrated throughout the stone (integral color). This ensures that if a stone is chipped during installation or over time, the color remains consistent through the entire body of the unit, unlike cheaper painted alternatives.

Individual Units vs. Panelized Systems

Most DIY stone solutions use "z-panels" which create visible repeating patterns and artificial seams. StoneRox consists of individual flats and 90-degree corner units. This allows the mason to create a "Random Ashlar" or "Dry Stack" bond that is physically indistinguishable from full-bed natural stone. This granularity is essential for achieving professional-grade detailing around windows, doors, and complex corners.

Structural Efficiency and Weight Comparison

Natural full-bed stone requires a structural concrete footing and often heavy steel lintels over openings due to its massive weight. StoneRox stone veneer is a fraction of the weight of traditional stone masonry. At less than 15 lbs per square foot, it can be applied to any structurally sound wall surface, including wood frame, metal stud, or masonry, without structural modifications or wall ties.

Engineered for Freeze-Thaw Stability

Designed specifically for the fluctuating climates of Ontario and the Northern United States, StoneRox is engineered for freeze-thaw durability. Its low water absorption helps prevent the internal pressure that causes natural stone to "spall" or flake during winter months.
