1. Can Limestone Veneer be installed directly over standard wood framing?

Yes. Because StoneRox is 90% lighter than natural full-bed masonry (under 15 lbs/sqft), it does not require structural concrete footings or wall ties. It can be installed over any structurally sound exterior surface, including wood framing with cement board, metal studs, or existing masonry, making it ideal for both new construction and retrofits.

2. How does Limestone Veneer compare to panelized "Z-stone" systems?

Most budget veneers come in Z-shaped panels which create a repetitive, artificial pattern and visible vertical seams. Limestone Veneer consists of individual flats and 90-degree corner units. This allows your installer to create a truly random architectural bond, replicating the unique character of a hand-laid stone wall without the "tiling" effect of panels.

3. Will the color of the stone fade or peel over time?

No. Unlike surface-painted veneers where the color is only a thin top layer, Limestone Veneer utilizes Integral Iron Oxide Pigmentation. The color is mixed throughout the entire body of the mineral composite. This ensures that even if a stone is accidentally chipped, the color remains consistent, providing a permanent, zero-maintenance finish.

4. Is Limestone Veneer engineered for extreme freeze-thaw climates?

Absolutely. Specifically engineered for the rigorous climates of Canada and the Northern US, our high-density mineral composition has low water absorption. This helps prevent the internal moisture buildup that causes traditional concrete veneers and natural sedimentary stones to "spall," flake, or crack during winter temperature cycles.

5. Do I need specialized corner pieces for window surrounds and edges?

Yes, and we provide them. We supply matching 90-degree corner units for Limestone Veneer. Using these solid corner units eliminates the need for mitering or "butt-joints" at the corners of your home or window surrounds, ensuring the architectural depth and heavy-heft look of a full-bed stone installation.
