What to know before you choose Ridgestone

Weight and wall type
At 10 to 12 lb per sq ft, this stone veneer weighs a fraction of full-bed stone, so it goes on without structural footings, lintels or wall ties. Outside, it is typically installed over plywood, and also over existing surfaces such as sound brick and other masonry, concrete or stucco; inside, over metal lath and a scratch coat.

Mortar joints
Ridgestone is set in mortar with visible joints that keep its straight lines crisp across the wall. An experienced mason gives the best result.

Weather and durability
StoneRox is a durable material made for freeze-thaw climates, and it is weather-tight when properly installed as part of a well-detailed wall. Like any exterior cladding, its colour may soften slightly with years of weathering; sealing is not required, and optional sealing every 1 to 2 years keeps the day-one look.
