Painting & Long-Term Care Guidelines
1. Paint Selection
Always use a high-quality 100% acrylic exterior latex paint for exterior profiles, or premium interior acrylic paint for coves and crowns. Avoid solvent-based or oil-based paints, as they can react with composite cores.
2. Surface Preparation & Application
Ensure all hard-coat surfaces and joint seams are clean, dry, and free of sanding dust before painting. Apply paint using a brush, roller, or airless sprayer. Two light coats provide optimal coverage and long-term UV protection.
3. Routine Cleaning & Maintenance
Exterior composite mouldings are completely non-porous and weather-resistant. Wash periodically with low-pressure water from a garden hose and a mild household detergent. Do not use high-pressure power washers directly against joint seals.
Working with Your General Contractor / Stucco Installer
1. Substrate Compatibility
Mouldex profiles install easily over EIFS, cement stucco, CMU masonry, poured concrete, and standard interior drywall using approved polymer adhesives or low-expansion spray foam.
2. Sharing Mouldex Spec Codes (MSC)
If your project designer or architect specified a Mouldex Spec Code (MSC), provide it directly to your contractor so they order the exact profile geometry, drop dimensions, and quantities required for your project.
3. Installation Support
Contractors and installers can contact our technical team directly at any point during your build for adhesive recommendations, miter joint guidance, or custom architectural profile matching.
