1. Is this "real" stone or a manufactured composite?
This is 100% natural stone. Unlike our mineral veneer line which is cast from natural molds, our Natural Stone Panels consist of real rock that has been precision-cut and hand-assembled into modular interlocking panels for superior geological authenticity.
2. Are these panels visible once they are installed?
No. Each panel is engineered with a staggered, interlocking "Z" edge. This design allows the stones of one panel to mesh perfectly with the next, eliminating the straight vertical seams common in lower-quality stone systems and creating a continuous, hand-laid look.
3. Can I use these for a fireplace surround?
Yes. Because the material is 100% natural stone and inorganic, it is naturally fire-resistant. These panels are a top choice for interior feature walls, chimney breasts, and fireplace surrounds due to their high thermal resistance and premium texture.
4. How are the corners handled?
Just like our individual stone line, we offer matching Natural Stone Corner Panels. These L-shaped units wrap around the corner of the wall to maintain the illusion of thick, full-bed natural stone blocks, hiding the substrate completely.
5. How much weight do these add to the wall?
Natural stone panels weigh approximately 12–14 lbs per square foot. While heavier than our mineral veneer (7 lbs), they are still significantly lighter than full-bed stone (40+ lbs). They can typically be installed over standard cement board and drainage planes without structural footings.
